Hola cariño mio,
Ya tienes 5 meses! Como pasa el tiempo de rápido! Sobretodo cuando eres muy feliz y disfrutas mucho del momento. Estos meses contigo han sido los mejores de mi vida. Tenerte junto a nosotros es el regalo mas grande y preciado que la vida me ha podido dar. Doy las gracias por tenerte todos los días. Te quiero más que a mi propia vida y siempre busco tu bienestar y felicidad.

Eres una bebé muy feliz. Todas las mañanas cuando entro a tu habitación y me ves me recibes con una sonrisa y yo me derrito. Todavía sigo llorando muchas veces de felicidad cuando te miro, te acaricio y te abrazo.

Eres una niña muy buena. Si te despiertas en mitad de la noche no lloras, te quedas tranquila en tu cuna hacienda soniditos de bebé pero sin quejarte y te mueves tanto que muchas veces te encuentro durmiendo en la otra dirección.  Cuando te llevo conmigo a un shopping mall, vas muy tranquila en tu carrito, sin llorar, mirando todo lo que te rodea.  Y en el coche casi siempre te quedas dormida.

Cuando te canto sonríes. Te gusta mucho oírme cantar y escuchar música,. Eres como tus papas, a nosotros también nos encanta la música.

Todos los días juego mucho contigo. Te encantan tus juguetes. Los miras siempre con mucha atención. Estás aprendiendo a controlar tus manitas. Ya las acercas a los juguetes que te enseño e intentas cogerlos. Muchas veces los coges y te los llevas a la boca, o los golpeas con otros juguetes para hacer ruido.

Te encanta que te de baños. Siempre te doy un masaje con crema antes de volverte a vestir y te gustan mucho. Te quedas muy relajada y duermes muy bien después.

Sabes quien soy. Me reconoces todas las manañas y siempre que viene alguien a casa y te coge en brazos, no me quitas la vista de encima y te pones a llorar porque quieres venir con mamá. Te sientes protegida conmigo y muy querida.

Hi my cariño,
you are 5 months old! Time flies so quickly, specially when you are very happy and you are enjoying the moment. These months with you have been the best months in my life. Having you with us is the most beautiful and precious gift that life has given me. I'm very grateful and thankful to for this. I love you more than my own life and I always do my best to give wellness and happiness to you.

You are a happy baby. Every morning, when I go to your room, you smile to me as soon as you see me and you melt my heart. I'm still crying of happiness often when I look at you, I caress you and I hug you.

You are such a good girl. If you wake up in the middle of the night, you don't cry. You stay there awake, making cute baby noises. You move a lot in your crib. Sometimes I find you sleeping in the opposite direction. And when I take you to the shopping mall with me, you are very quiet in the stroller looking around. You also fall asleep in the car almost every ride.

You smile at me when I sing to you. You love listening me singing to you and listening music as well. You are just like mommy and daddy, we love music also.

I play with you everyday. You love your toys. You are amazed by them. You are learning now to control your little hands. You try to grab your toys when I show them to you. When you grab a toy, you put it in your mouth, or you hit other toys with it to make noise.

You love baths. I always give you a massage with lotion before getting you dressed again. This leaves you so relaxed and you sleep very well afterwards.

You know who I am. You recognize me every morning. When somebody comes home for a visit, you start crying as soon as they hold you in their arms while you are looking at me at the same time because you want to come with mommy. You feel protected with me and very loved.

I love you so much.

Hoy salgo de cuentas!/ Today is my due date!

 

Por fin ha llegado el día en el que salgo de cuentas! 40 semanas de embarazo cumplidas pero sin señales de parto por ninguna parte. 

 

Mi ginecólogo me dijo el viernes pasado que ve la cosa muy atrasada para un parto inminente, pues mi cervix está intacto y tengo 0 cm de dilatación a estas alturas. Hoy sigo sin notar nada. No siento contracciones, ni dolor lumbar, no siento nada! Me da la sensación de que Emily se va a tomar su tiempo en salir. Está muy cómoda en la tripita de mami. 

 

Me han dicho que seguramente me tendrán que inducir la semana que viene si no he progresado cuando me vean este viernes. No me gusta la idea de que me provoquen el parto. Preferiría que mi propio cuerpo decidiera cuando es el momento. Pero también es verdad que la placenta deja de ser tan efectiva pasadas las 41 semanas de gestación y de ahí que se haya tomado esta decisión.

 

En cualquier caso, espero que todo salga bien. Estoy tan feliz de que llegue este momento que creo que mis miedos desaparecerán cuando se acerque el momento del parto. Aún así, estoy nerviosa, pero es totalmente normal sentirse así. 

 

La próxima vez que escriba en este blog, nuestra preciosa bebé estará ya con nosotros. Qué emoción!!!! :)

 

 

Finally the day has come, my due date is here! 40 weeks of pregnancy but no signs of labor.

 

Last Friday, my gynecologist told me that things are moving slow and labor won't happen sometime soon. I'm 0% effaced and 0 cm dilated. And I still feel nothing, no contractions, no back pain, no nothing! I have the feeling baby Emily is going to take her sweet time to show up. She's very cozy inside mommy's belly.

 

I've been told I probably have to be induced by next week if I didn't progress by this Friday. I'm not happy with the idea of being induced. I would so much rather let my body acting by its own. The only problem is the placenta stops being effective passed 41 weeks of  pregnancy. That's why this decision was made.

 

Anyway, I hope everything goes well. I'm so happy for this moment to arrive that I think all my fears will go away when labor begins. Even so, I'm still nervous buy it's completely normal feeling this way.

 

Next time I post in this blog, our beautiful baby will be already with us. So exciting!!!! :)

Quedan sólo 20 días! Only 20 days left!

No me puedo creer que salgo de cuentas en sólo 20 días! Parece que fue ayer cuando me enteré de que estaba embarazada y ya estamos casi ahí, a punto de conocerte! :)

 

I can´t believe there are only 20 days left until my due date! It seems like it was yesterday when I found out I was pregnant and we are almost there - we are about to meet you! :)

 

 

 

Ya está todo listo para tu llegada: Tu habitación, la bolsa para el hospital, y todo lo que necesitarás... Y hoy te voy a enseñar algunas cosas.

Lately

Hola Emily,

Ha pasado casi un mes sin actualizar el blog. He estado ocupándome de dejar todo listo para tu llegada. Finalmente puedo decir que puedes nacer cuando quieras porque estamos listos! Qué emoción!

Durante este pasado mes hemos vivido acontecimientos muy importantes y especiales:

 Hi Emily,

 It´s have been over a month without posting anything. I´ve been pretty bussy getting things ready for your arrival. I can happily say that  you can be born whenever you want because we´re so ready! So exciting!

During this past month we have lived important and special events:

 

1- Adiós al séptimo mes.

1- Goodbye to the 7th month.

 

 

2- Vimos tu preciosa carita en una ecografía en 4D. Fue increíble!

2- We saw your beautiful little face in a 4D ultrasound. It was awesome!

 

 

 

3- La abuelita Fany vino a visitarnos desde España. Estuvimos en Nueva York y te compramos muchas cositas allí. Esa fue la primera vez que estuviste en la ciudad de mis sueños.

3- Grandma Fany came from Spain for a visit. We were in NYC and we went shopping. We bought many things for you there. That was the first time you have been in the City of my dreams.

 

 

 

 

4- Celebramos tu Baby Shower. Fue preciosa! Tu abuela Dawn trabajó mucho en cada detalle para hacerla perfecta. Y tu abuela Fany te hizo unas galletas súper bonitas que además estaban buenísimas. Nuestros familiares y amigos nos regalaron muchas cosas para ti.

4- We celebrated your Baby Shower. It was gorgeous! Your grandma Dawn worked very hard in every detail to make it perfect. And your grandma Fany made beautiful cookies. They were delicious! Our family and friends gave us many gifts for you.

 

 

 

Tu papá y yo estamos muy agradecidos y felices por esta Baby Shower tan increíble que tuvimos para ti y por todo lo que te han regalado. En el siguiente post te las enseñaré :)
